America’s Best Contact & Eyeglasses History
In 1986, America’s Best opened its first eyeglass store in Detroit. (Prior to that, the America’s Best Corporation only sold contact lenses.) After smashing success in Detroit, other eyeglass stores opened in thirteen cities including: Chicago, Baltimore, DC, Phoenix, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Omaha, Tucson, Minneapolis, Salt Lake City, Kansas City and St. Louis.

The concept was to sell quality, fashionable, and brand name eyeglasses at affordable prices. That’s still a main component to the America’s Best mission today. In fact, our famous 2 pairs of eyeglasses for $69.95 deal has been around since 2004. That means we haven’t raised our prices on this deal in more than fourteen years.
