Color to a New Dimension: Colored Contacts

I am constantly amazed by the variety of shades of people’s eyes!

My own sons, for example, were both born with blue eyes. Yet, my eldest son’s eyes are gray blue, almost steel colored, and my younger son’s eyes are more of a true blue, like the color of an idyllic lake. To say that eye colors can be categorized as just brown, green, blue or hazel is so, well, limiting.

Now you can capture some of the spectacular and intense shades of blue, and green, with a line of contacts called FreshLook Dimensions.

This next generation of colored contact lenses comes in three colors: pacific blue, sea green, and Caribbean aqua.  Designed for people with lighter eyes, these contacts are made to enhance and define eye color.

The researchers at Ciba Vision there decided to find out what features defined someone who had, “beautiful eyes.”  You know what they discovered?  They found that the iris is considered prettiest when it has a dark outer ring, an inner band of color, and a small golden starburst near the pupil.  So, in these Dimensions contacts, Ciba Vision tries to replicate that look with an innovative outer starburst pattern that makes eyes look bigger and brighter.  These lenses add extra dimension without looking fake!

One of the secrets to these colored contacts is that they are partially transparent.  So, sorry dark-eyed friends, these won’t work for you.  They are just for enhancing naturally light eye colors.  In fact, though I haven’t been able to try them (alas, my eyes are brown), friends with blue and green eyes have said that you shouldn’t try to use these lenses to change your eye color.  They truly are designed just to add dimension to the color you have.  So, choose the green shade if your eyes are green, and the blue shades if your eyes are that color.  (There are other colored contact options out there if changing colors is what you are looking for.  But, this is not that product.)

Don’t need corrective lenses? No worries!  You can still make your eyes as beautifully blue or green as you want to by ordering these lenses in plano (no correction).  The lenses are designed to be worn up to a month at a time, but are not recommended for extended wear (in other words take them out and clean them at night!).

Best of all, they are super affordable!  Go visit your America’s Best store today or order online if you have a current prescription!
