Don’t Make Your Brown Eyes Blue: Have You Tried Colored Contacts?

colored contact lensesI’m a brown-eyed girl. And, although I’ve always been flattered that Van Morrison recorded a song for girls like me, I always wished I had been born with blue.

That’s when I discovered FreshLook ColorBlends colored contactsEnter the possibility of having any color eyes I wanted…any time I wanted. Yippee!

Even if you have seemingly hard to mask dark brown eyes (like I do) they still work!  Gone are the colored contacts of the last century that could only tint your eyes if they were light. The new colored contacts offer an opacity that can turn even the blackest eyes a lighter hue.  In colors like amethyst, greens, blues, hazel, gray, brown…they are brilliant and the possibilities are limitless.

I know what you are thinking, how do you know what they will look like? How can you see if those blue eyes you’ve always wanted will look good with your hair or skin tone? Enter a new app from Fresh Look that lets you try on the lenses.  You can upload a picture of yourself and test the different colors over your own eye color or you can just choose one of their models with an eye color similar to yours and see how they look on her.

Once you find a pair you like, visit your eye doctor to order a pair (or two!).

If you are thinking of an eye color change, remember you may also need to change your eye make-up as well.  The shadow and liner colors you are using with your current eye color, may not flatter your new peepers.  That same shade of green that looked great with your brown eyes might make your blue ones disappear.

Here are a couple suggestions to best complement your new look:

For Blue, Gray or Amethyst Eyes: Try browns! It sounds counterintuitive but the contrast is just what you need to highlight the coolness of blue tones.  Brown liners and chocolate shadows on your lids can make your new blues pop!

For Brown and Hazel Toned Eyes: Use blue tones accented with deep pinks or caramel colors.  A navy blue liner paired with black mascara will frame dark eyes, especially, and bring attention to them.

For Green Eyes: Try purples! Believe it or not you can use beautiful and subtle deep plum or violet colors and not look like a junior higher. Avoid grassy or sky colors that will just compete with the tone of those beautiful bright green eyes.

Not sure if you are ready for a complete eye color change? Consider trying a pair in your natural eye color for a little more color intensity or a shade change.

Don’t let your brown eyes make you blue. Try some FreshLooks ColorBlends contact lenses!

Hi, Thanks for sharing this amazing style blog. I think you should add more content in your blog post. Also, you can use Contact Lenses with matching your hair color for enhancing the look of your face or eyes.

  2. I really like that color contacts ad in which its pitch is for don’t it make my brown eyes blue in which the eye lid closed and opened with the color changing from brown to blue.
